About the Institute

  • The Department of Biotechnology is a part of the Knowledge Village of the IPS Academy ISR and enlightens the students in Biotechnology and Microbiology.
  • We create future researchers with a research-centric approach to understand the concept and application of biotechnology and microbiology for human welfare.
  • To accomplish the objective, the department offers a bachelor’s degree (4 YDC) as per the new education policy (Biotechnology and Life Science) and a master’s degree (2 YDC) in Biotechnology and Microbiology.
  • The department is equipped with a variety of important instruments and qualified faculty to enhance practical, research-based, and theoretical understanding among the students.
  • To achieve the maximum output of academic learning in industry, we have MOUs with different organizations for the overall development and placement of students.
  • E-learning facilities are available for students. Students secured merit positions in the DAVV merit list.

Dr. Sanjay Nagar, Senior Professor

  • Invited as an examiner by Himachal University, Simla.
  • Invited for Guest Lecture at D.N. Jain College Jabalpur.
  • Member in the Board of Studies, Dept. of Biotechnology, DAVV, Indore. 2008-16.
  • Appointed as Associate Editor for the Journal of Interdisciplinary Science published by University of Cambridge, Cambridge U.K.
  • Appointed as referee/associate editor for the paper “Paddy farming practices in West Malaysia” and as associate editor for the International Journal of Interdisciplinary Social Sciences.
  • Invited to deliver lecture on Recent Trends in Plant Biotechnology organized by Extol college, Bhopal in June’2011.
  • Invited to deliver expert lecture on Advance Biotechnology on 11 July’ 2011 at MIST Mandsour.

  • Rishita Gupta, B.Sc. II year Life Sciences, 2020, won 1st Prize in National level Online Best Selfie Challenge Competition at ALCCESJS College For BMS, Maharashtra Mumbai.
  • Dheeraj Dehariya, M.Sc. Biotechnology 2019 qualified JRF in National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CSIR-UGC.
  • Imran Ali, B.Sc. Biotechnology 2013, is a Regional Film Director.
  • Sangeeta Sharma M.Sc. Biotechnology 2012 qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lectureship twice in  2011-12 conducted by CSIR-UGC. 
  • Yadvendra Ahirwar B.Sc. Biotechnology 2011 qualified CDS exam and has joined NDA, Deharadun for training.
  • Shailendra Dhakad B.Sc. Biotechnology 2011 started his entrepreneurship venture by opening a Bio fertilizer company at Singoli (Neemach).
  • Ali Asgar Bohra Student of B.Sc. final year has been selected in M.Sc. entrance exam of National Center for Biological Sciences and also of Madurai Kamaraj University.
  • Mayank Arora selected in Oxford University for 1 year PG Program in Pharmacology.
  • Shubhanshi Trivedi & Richa Jakhetia cleared GRE & TOEFL exams & got registered at Canberra University, Australia for MS program in Biotechnology. Awarded Post Doctoral Scholarship for research Program.

Institute provides well equipped laboratories having advance instruments i.e., Digital pH Meter, Conductivity meter, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Flame Photometer, Polarimeter, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Pharmaceutical tablet testing instruments, Karl-Fischer instrument etc

  • The Hand on training on sophisticated instruments is provided to the students.
